Welcome to Judy's Place

Providing Old
Fashioned Quality Care In Our Beautiful
Victorian Home

I love "this
ole house", and have done extensive
renovation of this beautiful Victorian home,
restoring it to it's original charm.
Beautiful period furniture fills the rooms
and privacy screens are in each resident
room for open doors. A new fireplace in the
living area and a completely renovated
kitchen are just some of the lovely works we
have completed. We also have an exercise
room with hot tub, an old fashioned long
front porch filled with hanging flower
baskets for lazy summer days and charming
landscaping in the front and back yards. Our
goal is to provide comfortable family
living with lots of love and respect for
everyone. Our daily schedule has been
carefully created to make each resident feel
that they are special and part of a loving
family, making retirement days content and
happy.
We provide home
cooked family style meals with all residents
seated at our large dining room table.
Having had 10 years of experience in
catering and special diets, our home plans
carefully for proper nutrition for each
resident. We provide a group exercise
program, daily devotions, art classes, music
and more for days filled with meaning and
value. Residents also participate, as able,
in fun activities like bowling, cooking,
family movies, satellite television, games
and sing-a-longs, pizza night and old
fashioned ice cream socials. Outings are
scheduled often, as weather permits, and
include sight seeing and outdoor picnics.
Please feel free to join us any time and
we'll be happy to show you around!!

I am finally
fulfilling my lifetime dream of providing
quality loving care to seniors. I retired
after thirty years of dedicated patient care
from Garden City Hospital where I worked in
Rehab Services and Physical Therapy. My
passion at Garden City was working with
joint replacement patients (who were mostly
80 years young and up). Such wisdom and
knowledge they have shared with me! When I
was a little girl my mother used to tell
others "Judy doesn't bring home cats and
dogs, she brings home old people." Bless her
heart,
nearly every week she
allowed me to bring home 1 or 2 residents
for dinner from the local nursing home where
I worked as a volunteer. Little did I know
that one day I would have my own special
home to care for the elderly people I loved
to be with. I know mom is smiling down at me
as I enjoy my wonderful senior family.
I also had my
own catering business for 10 years and still
have my hands in the kitchen serving others,
especially at Lexington United Methodist
Church where I am a member. They lovingly
call me "Chef Judy". I recently became
certified in teaching Raw Nutrition classes
and have a wonderful time experimenting with
new recipes. Please visit my Raw Foods

Lexington is
called "The First Resort North" and is
nestled on the shores of Lake Huron, which
is visible from our home. We are within a
short walking distance of the many quaint
and charming shops that line Huron Avenue, the
main street, which ends at Lexington
Harbor's sandy beach, boardwalk, break wall and marina. There is a scenic bike path to
be traveled,
great camping areas,
exceptional restaurants, entertainment, such
as "Music In The Park" a free summer concert
series held in the harbor park and sponsored
by the Lexington Arts Council, Fine Art
Street Fairs and many other community events
and festivals. We are surrounded by beautiful old churches
and many other architectural treasures. The
community has a very relaxed atmosphere and
warm, wonderful friendly people.
